DHSCA Online Learning
UPDATED MARCH 22, 2020
Duncanville High School Collegiate Academy Family,
School leaders recently made a tough decision to close Duncanville ISD until further notice due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Our greatest concern is the health and safety of our scholars and ensuring that learning continues.
In the coming weeks, Collegiate Academy scholars will utilize their online platforms to continue the learning process. Collegiate Academy teachers have designed intriguing online lessons that will be delivered through Google Classroom and other online platforms. Our scholars are accustomed to completing and submitting assignments through Google Classroom and other online learning portals; however, this will be an adjustment for scholars. We ask your support in ensuring that scholars have designated study times each day to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Learning will not look exactly like it does when scholars are in class, but I believe and trust that our teachers will be able to collaboratively put together quality instruction for your scholar. Google classroom and online lesson assignments will go live Monday, March 23, 2020, by 12 noon.
All classes at Mountain View College have been moved to an online platform. Scholars are responsible for completing and submitting the assignments posted online from their professors. 10th- and 11th-grade scholars enrolled in courses that are already online will continue as scheduled. 11th-grade scholars at Mountain View College that were enrolled in face-to-face courses that have now moved online will be responsible for diligently checking and submitting any assignments that professors will post in eCampus.
Additionally, with all of the uncertainty in this situation, I believe that we can continue to offer some stability for your family by keeping your scholar focused on their academic goals.
As far as extracurricular activities, the UIL has suspended all interscholastic competition at this time. There will be no activities.
I know that you will have questions. As decisions are made and information is released, we will get that to you as quickly as possible. Please be our partner with patience and understanding. We are moving through a new way of delivering instruction; there will be bumps in the road while we figure it out. I assure you that we will work diligently for your scholar to receive a quality education.
Finally, please tell your scholars that we will miss them while they are away!
